Meditations for Career Changers
Maintaining good relationships is vital to achieving maximum satisfaction and performance at work
As a New York City Career Counselor and NYC Career Coach who has worked with thousands of New York executives seeking job counseling and career advice, believe me when I say that maintaining good relationships is vital to achieving maximum satisfaction and performance at work. You really have to find the balance between your own personality and getting along with others.
Establishing Good Relationships
In our rushed daily lives where we hurry to get our daily tasks (both personal and professional) accomplished, we need to be mindful of establishing good relationships at work versus solely being focused on producing results. (Relationships versus Results). It is clearly worth taking the time to develop relationships with your colleagues and peers at work.
Initiating Conversations
If you feel uncertain about your interactions, you might want to initiate a “charge neutral“ conversation to better understand how you can work better together. These interactions can often become challenging so responding to them rather than reacting to them can be helpful. By that I mean taking the time to step back and understand the sources of tension and miscommunication. Seeking out objective feedback can also be very valuable.
If you take these steps you should be happier with the results of these efforts.
